Creative Hour: Architecture and Art

To what extent does art shape space, and how does architecture enable artistic expression? How do interior design and artistic interventions intertwine in contemporary hospitality projects? What is the role of curators in integrating art into architectural projects?
At Creative Hour: Architecture & Art, we will explore these questions through concrete examples and the experiences of three renowned experts:
- Vanja Žanko, curator and cultural manager, will share insights into curatorial strategies within architectural projects, explaining how the selection and placement of art influence spatial perception.
- Marko Tadić, artist and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, will offer a firsthand account of his work on Grand Park Hotel Rovinj, where he was invited to intervene in the space without curatorial mediation.
- Saša Begović, professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb, architect, and partner at 3LHD Studio, will discuss interdisciplinary design approaches and how integrating art can enrich architectural concepts.
Through an analysis of some of the most fascinating projects, such as Hotel Adriatic, Hotel Lone, and Grand Park Hotel Rovinj, we will examine the processes of art selection, the role of curators, and the challenges and opportunities presented by interdisciplinary collaboration. Special attention will be given to how art can transform hotel interiors and how architectural concepts can serve as a canvas for artistic interventions.
This event is an opportunity to understand how architecture and art complement each other, how spatial narratives are developed through cross-disciplinary collaboration, and how artwork can become an integral part of an architectural whole.
