In the contemporary world of architecture, photography serves not only to document buildings but also as a key tool for interpreting and communicating architectural ideas. Photography allows spatial concepts to be conveyed to a wider audience, highlighting the essence of design through the play of light, shadow, and perspective.

Architectural photographers act as intermediaries between architects and the public. Their ability to capture space, materials, and atmosphere through the lens enables the viewer to experience the architectural work in a way that transcends physical presence.

Speakers:

  • Jure Živković – photographer and architect at 3LHD studio, who brings a unique perspective combining technical understanding of space with the artistic expression of photography. His work includes collaborations with renowned architectural firms, capturing the essence of architectural projects through his lens.
  • Aljoša Kotnjek – architect at 3LHD studio with significant experience in design, bringing a deep understanding of space and its depiction. His passion for architecture is reflected in his work, where he merges technical precision with creative expression.

During the lecture, participants will have the opportunity to learn how photography can:

  • Interpret architectural ideas through visual media.
  • Highlight the details and materials that form the essence of the design.
  • Create a narrative that connects the viewer to the space.

There will also be a discussion on techniques and approaches that allow for the creation of strong and evocative architectural photographs.

This lecture offers a unique opportunity to understand how these two disciplines intertwine and enrich each other. Through the eyes of experienced professionals, participants will deepen their understanding of space and how it can be depicted through the lens.
