What is the sonic structure of space? How does architecture become a score, and space itself a composition?
At the next Creative Hour, we explore the fascinating and multilayered relationship between architecture and music—two disciplines that share fundamental principles of construction, rhythm, proportion, and dynamics.
Both architecture and music shape our experience of time and space. This synergy will be the subject of exploration through selected works of contemporary musical literature, brought to life in the unique acoustics of Urania by Ensemble Synchronos. The program features compositions by Iannis Xenakis, Georg Friedrich Haas, Frano Đurović, and contemporary interpretations of sonic forms that manifest in architectural spaces as material vibration, the geometry of sound, and structural rhythm.

As Daniel Libeskind once noted, "Music and architecture have historically been intertwined—sometimes as allies, sometimes as rivals, but always as forces that shape our perception of space and time."
In the introductory talk, composer Marko Slaviček will discuss the historical and contemporary connections between these two art forms, offering insights into the creative process of music inspired by architectural principles.
This event brings together architects, composers, spatial theorists, and lovers of experimental music in a discursive-musical experience that blurs the boundaries between sound and space.
