We are proud to announce the new lecture series Sustainable Hour: ESG in Focus – Powered by Erste, which will take place at Urania – Space of Creation throughout 2025. This series will provide expert analyses, practical solutions, and critical insights into key sustainability issues in business. Through multidisciplinary discussions, leading experts will offer relevant information and tools to support decision-making that integrates environmental, social, and economic responsibility.

The first lecture will be held on Thursday, April 10, at 5:30 PM, focusing on energy independence for residential and commercial buildings. In an era of rising energy prices and climate change, energy efficiency has become an imperative for sustainable development.

Key topics to be covered:

  • How to optimize energy consumption in family homes and multi-apartment buildings?
  • What are the concrete financial benefits of energy renovation?
  • How do subsidy systems work, and what financing models are available?

Speakers:

  • Vjeran Piršić – President of the Eko Kvarner association, a prominent environmental activist and sustainability expert, will discuss practical steps for achieving energy efficiency in residential buildings and the economic benefits of such investments.
  • Marko Sušanj – Owner of Tuta Blu d.o.o., a company specializing in solar systems, will present the technical possibilities of installing solar panels, insights from over 900 completed projects, and the latest available subsidies for such investments.
  • Aida Čustović – Director of the Advisory Center for Housing Finance at Erste&Steiermärkische Bank d.d., will introduce financial models and tools, including green calculators, which help assess savings and return on investment in energy renovation.

This lecture will provide an overview of current trends in sustainable construction, practical guidelines for financing and optimizing energy resources, and a critical analysis of the regulatory framework and market opportunities.
