The Public forum on affordable housing opens a discussion on a topic that increasingly shapes the way we live, design our cities, and imagine the future of shared urban space.
At a time when housing availability has become one of the central social and urban issues, the forum will explore the relationship between housing as an investment and housing as a home, as well as what “affordable housing” truly means today.
Drawing on European experiences and models that are already in practice, the forum provides a space to discuss potential forms of collaboration between the public and private sectors, the role of institutions, financial mechanisms, and policy decisions in creating more sustainable and accessible housing solutions. The focus is not solely on the market, but on how housing can be reconsidered as a fundamental social value – a space of security, sustainability, and community development.
The discussion will feature Prof. Dr. Sc. Saša Marenjak, an expert in public-private partnerships and the preparation of large-scale infrastructure projects, Ivana Miličić from EBRD, who combines practical banking expertise with active engagement in public policy and reform initiatives, and Anica Petričević from Erste & Steiermärkische Bank d.d., focused on strategic initiatives in sustainability and ESG.
The conversation will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Sc. Saša Marenjak.
This forum is part of a broader effort to discuss space not only through architecture and construction, but also through issues of the right to the city, accessibility, public interest, and quality of everyday life.
