This year you can participate in the entire program ONLINE from the security of your home: you can follow the events on the official festival page www.zff.hr, but also by streaming on the Facebook event.
During the seven festival days, you will have the opportunity to watch and listen to five interesting lectures, two panels and one public pitching.
Starting on Monday 9th November at 5 pm with the masterclass ‘Video Games: Monster Design Based on Human Emotions’ by the manager of the creative studio Jo-Mei Cornelia Geppert who will present the concept and creation of the game ‘Sea of Solitude’, inspired by the mental health problem.
On Tuesday 10th November at 5 pm Thierry Baujard from the SpielFabrique video game accelerator program will hold a masterclass ‘Games without borders: European co-productions’. The lecture is followed by a panel 'Croatia as a player in European co-productions', with the participation of Chris Marcich (HAVC), Thierry Baujard (SpielFabrique), Andrej Levenski (Cluster of Croatian Computer Game Manufacturers) and Davor Švaić (ADU), moderated by Srđan Laterza.
Wednesday 11th November brings two events: at 11 am masterclass ‘Identifying the essence and concept to prepare and present your ideas for TV series’ led by producers Valeria Richter and Helene Granqvist, intending to develop a strategy for television projects for further presentation on pitching- forums.
At 5 pm, a masterclass by renowned Romanian director Radu Jude entitled 'Directing Methods in Feature and Documentary Films' follows. Jude will discuss similarities and differences in his approach with Croatian director Igor Bezinović.
On Thursday 12th November at 7 pm another attraction: American script-doctor Bobette Buster, a visiting professor at Pixar and Disney Animation Studios, holds a masterclass entitled ‘Fascination in Action: How Film Changes the World’.
Friday 13th November brings two panels dedicated to the question of how institutions and good practice can help European film during the COVID-19 crisis. The first panel 'Produce or not during the COVID-19 pandemic?' starting at 1 pm, host Ankica Tilić (producer, HRUP), Julie-Jeanne Regnault (EFAD Secretary-General), Ada Solomon (producer, EWA / EFA), Krešimir Partl (Croatian Ministry of Culture), Chris Marcich (HAVC) and Sabine Verheyen (MEP / CD CULT).
The second panel discusses 'How to save cinemas during the COVID-19 pandemic?', with the participation of Alen Munitić (Cinema Network), Fatima Djoumer (Europa Cinemas), Chris Marcich (HAVC), Christian Bräuer (CICAE) and Željana Zovko (MEP). Martina Petrović (DKE - MEDIA desk Croatia) moderates both panels.
Saturday 14th November at 1 pm brings the final Pitching Forum of ZFF's traditional Industry Youth! program, where students from six academies from the region present their projects in front of an expert panel consisting of Ewa Bojanowska (New Europe Film Sales), Goran Turković (Šesnić & Turković) and Tomislav Vujnović (Poster).
In addition to educational programs open to the public, ZFF Industry brings the workshop ‘My First Script’ under the mentorship of Antonio Nuić and Ognjen Sviličić, while the participants of Industry Youth! work with Čedomir Kolar, Inja Korać and Lana Matić.
