Design today spans a wide range of creative fields and professionals – from graphic, product, and experience designers to cultural managers and communication and digital specialists. In such a diverse landscape, collaboration has become one of the most vital ways of working.
How do such collaborations emerge? What are their strengths, and where do they encounter challenges?
This lecture and conversation will focus on what it means to work as a woman in the creative professions. What does it take to make a bold step, establish an authorship, or secure fair recognition and compensation for one’s work? How and why can our work contribute to society?
Through conversation, five collaborators will share their experiences and reflections on these questions. Over the past ten years, they have worked together intensively on a wide range of projects – from exhibitions and spatial interventions to conceptual experiments – often in fluid team constellations and across different formats of collaboration.
Participants:
They will speak about authorship, collaboration, and networking, but also about topics less often discussed publicly: mistakes, negotiations, burnout, and the moments when it becomes clear that it is time to take a step forward and move on.
